Why this one rather than another
A cat tree you find beautiful stays in the living room. A cat tree you find ugly ends up in the spare room — and your cat stops using it.
Materials, not coverings
Solid wood for the platforms and trunks, woven rattan for the baskets, sisal for the columns. Three natural materials that develop a patina as they age, whereas synthetic carpet mats and fades after a year.
The scratcher is the structure
The load-bearing columns are fully wrapped in sisal, from platform to floor. Your cat scratches the tree's frame, not a panel tacked onto the side — and they scratch while stretching upwards, which is exactly the movement they're after.
Two heights, two moods
The baskets sit at two different levels. A cat doesn't always sleep in the same place: they climb up when they want to keep watch, and come back down to the sheltered bed below when they want to disappear. This tree leaves them the choice.
One metre, and no more
60 × 40 cm on the floor, 100 cm tall: it slips in beside a sofa or under a window without overwhelming the room. If you're looking for height for a cat who loves to climb, look instead at the tall 160 cm rattan model.
01 · The baskets
Woven baskets, not flat platforms
Both baskets are woven with a raised rim. The difference is tangible: a cat sleeping on a flat platform slides and wakes up; a cat curled up in a basket is held in place by the rim.
The bottom is solid wood, so nothing sags under their weight, even during long naps.

In the living space
A piece of furniture, not an accessory.
The cat tree market was built on chipboard covered in grey plush. The result looks like a pet-shop accessory dropped in the middle of a living room — and that's what leads so many people to banish it to a bedroom, where the cat stops using it.
Solid pine, rubberwood panel, woven rattan baskets. One metre tall: the size that fits beside a sofa without announcing that it's there for the cat.

Measure the spot before ordering: 60 × 40 cm on the floor, and allow twenty or so centimetres in front so your cat can take a run-up. Placed against a wall rather than in the middle of a room, it will get far more use.
02 · The sisal
What saves your sofa
A cat doesn't scratch to cause damage: they're maintaining their claws and marking their territory. If they have no vertical surface available, they'll take the arm of the sofa.
Tightly wrapped sisal offers exactly the resistance they're looking for. Place the tree close to the spot they already scratch: that's where they want to leave their mark, not anywhere else.

Footprint and height
A cat tree is also chosen according to the space you have. Measure your spot before choosing: a tree too imposing for the room ends up banished, and a banished tree no longer gets used.
What to measure at home
- The floor space available, in length and width.
- The ceiling height where you plan to put it, especially under a sloping ceiling.
- The wall you'll stand it against — no unsecured tree is perfectly still.
Allow twenty or so centimetres of clearance in front of the tree so your cat can take a run-up.
The three figures to compare
| Measurement | Value | What it means at home |
|---|---|---|
| Footprint | 60 × 40 cm | Compact: it fits in a corner or beside a sofa. |
| Total height | 100 cm | Versatile size, no ceiling constraints. |
| Weight | 10.1 kg | Stand it against a wall and retighten the fixings after a few days. |
Three resting spots: two raised rattan baskets and a sheltered lower bed. Self-assembly — fixings and instructions included.
So they truly adopt it
An ignored cat tree is almost always a question of placement or introduction — rarely of the model itself.
-
Choose the spot first
Against a wall, near a window, in a room you live in. A cat tree stuck alone in a hallway serves no purpose: your cat wants to watch over their world, not get away from it.
-
Build it in front of them
Don't assemble it in another room. Let them watch the assembly, sniff the parts, sit on the platforms: they make the object their own before it's even finished.
-
Put their scent on it
Place a piece of fabric they already sleep on in the baskets. A familiar scent turns a new piece of furniture into known territory, often in a single night.
-
Reward at the top, not the bottom
For the first few days, place treats and toys in the top baskets. The aim is for them to climb up on their own — never carry them up there, it has the opposite effect.
Frequently asked questions
What people ask us about this tree
Is it stable for a big cat?
With a 60 × 40 cm base and 10.1 kg, it is well weighted for its one-metre height. A cat jumping straight onto the top basket will make it sway, as with any tree not fixed to the wall. Placed against a wall, the movement disappears. For a particularly boisterous cat over 7 kg, the tall rattan cat tree puts 23 kg on a 78 × 58 cm base.
Is assembly complicated?
It arrives flat-packed with the fixings and instructions. Allow just under an hour, ideally with a second pair of hands — the solid wood platforms are heavy to hold on your own while you drive in the screws. No special tools are needed beyond a cross-head screwdriver.
Will the rattan stand up to claws?
The baskets are made for sleeping, not scratching, and it's the sisal on the columns that draws the claws. That said, let's be honest: a determined cat can fray a rattan weave. If yours goes after anything woven, they'll end up marking the baskets.
How long does delivery take for a 10 kg parcel?
It's dispatched from our supplier's warehouse, which means it takes longer than our small accessories. The estimate shown above the order button takes this bulky size into account. Tracking is sent to you as soon as it's dispatched.
My cat has always ignored cat trees.
In the vast majority of cases, it's the placement that's to blame, not the furniture: too far from the life of the home, too low, or too isolated. Follow the four steps above before drawing conclusions. And if they really don't want it, you have 30 days to send it back to us.
Is it suitable for two cats?
The two baskets are at different heights, which helps: in a multi-cat household, hierarchy often plays out in height. For two cats who don't get on well, still plan a second high point elsewhere in the room.
