Terms of sale

Last updated: 17 October 2026

Article 1 — Purpose and scope

These general terms and conditions of sale (the “Terms”) govern sales of products made on pelux.fr (in French) and peluxcat.com (in English), two versions of the same shop, between:

  • The seller: Pelux (“we”, “us”), whose details appear in our Legal notice;
  • The customer: any adult individual acting as a consumer (“you”).

By placing an order, you accept these Terms in full and confirm that you read them before confirming your order.

Article 2 — Products

We describe and present our products as accurately as we can. Photographs, illustrations and 3D models are provided for illustration only and are not contractually binding.

The Pelux catalogue is a selection of items for cats, organised into six families: harnesses & leads, carriers, beds & scratchers, cat trees, play & enrichment, and food & water. Each product is offered in the options shown on its product page — size, colour, format or length, depending on the item — while stocks last.

The features, dimensions, materials and limits of use of each item are set out on its product page, which takes precedence over any general description. Where a figure could not be verified with the supplier, the product page says so plainly rather than giving an approximate number.

Article 3 — Prices

Prices are set for each delivery country; they are shown, and paid, in the currency displayed for the country you choose — in euros, all taxes included, for France. Pelux operates under the French VAT exemption scheme for small businesses (“VAT not applicable, Article 293 B of the French General Tax Code”), so no VAT is charged. Depending on the delivery country, customs duties, import taxes or clearance fees not included in the price may be charged when the parcel is delivered; if so, they are payable by you. Delivery costs are shown before you confirm your order. Delivery is free unless stated otherwise at the time of ordering.

We may change our prices at any time; the price that applies is the one in force on the day you place your order.

Article 4 — Orders

You place your order online on pelux.fr or peluxcat.com; the contract can be concluded in French or in English, the two languages in which these Terms are available. The sale is concluded when you receive our order confirmation email. We may cancel an order in the event of an earlier dispute, for any other legitimate reason, or if the item is out of stock.

Article 5 — Payment

Payment is made online at the time of ordering, by card through the secure Shopify Payments service, or by any other payment method offered on the site. Payment details are transmitted in encrypted form and are not stored by us.

Article 6 — Delivery

  • Delivery area: metropolitan France and the following countries and territories, as at the date of this update: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates. If this list ever differs from the countries offered at checkout, the checkout list applies.
  • Estimated delivery time: 5–10 working days in metropolitan France (processing included); for other countries, the time shown on each product page for the delivery country you have chosen, which is repeated in your order summary.
  • Delivery cost: free, to every delivery country.

The delivery time depends on the item ordered and where it is dispatched from: where a product has its own delivery time, this is shown on its product page. If no delivery time is indicated, we deliver no later than 30 days after your order. If your order has not arrived by the end of the delivery time indicated, you may ask us in writing (an email is enough) to deliver it within a reasonable additional period; if it has still not arrived by then, you may terminate the contract and receive a refund of all sums paid within 14 days at the latest (Articles L.216-1, L.216-6 and L.216-7 of the French Consumer Code).

Where an order contains several items, they may be dispatched separately and reach you on different dates, at no extra cost.

Article 7 — Right of withdrawal

Under Articles L.221-18 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, you have 14 days from receipt of the product to withdraw from the contract, without giving any reason. Where your order contains several items delivered separately, this period runs from receipt of the last item.

You notify us of your decision by email at pelux.team@gmail.com or by using the model withdrawal form (appendix below). The product must be returned in its original condition, complete and unused, within 14 days of your notification. Return costs are paid by you, including for a return from abroad.

We refund all sums paid using the same payment method as for your order, in the currency of the order, no later than 14 days after you notify us of your withdrawal; we may withhold the refund until we have received the product back or you have supplied proof of having sent it, whichever is earlier.

“30-day money-back guarantee” commercial guarantee contract: in addition to the statutory right of withdrawal, Pelux, the seller identified in Article 1, offers free of charge a 30-day satisfaction guarantee from receipt, on the whole catalogue and in every delivery country: an item returned clean and complete is refunded, without the Customer having to point to any defect; return costs are paid by the Customer. This guarantee is in addition to the legal guarantee of conformity (Article 8), which remains due for its full duration. Terms: see our Returns and refunds policy.

Article 8 — Legal guarantees

You automatically benefit, at no extra cost, from:

  • the legal guarantee of conformity (Articles L.217-3 et seq. of the French Consumer Code), for 2 years from delivery of the product;
  • the legal guarantee against hidden defects (Articles 1641 et seq. of the French Civil Code).

To make a claim under them, contact us at pelux.team@gmail.com.

Article 9 — Personal data

The data we collect is processed in accordance with our Privacy policy and the GDPR.

Article 10 — Mediation and disputes

Under Article L.612-1 of the French Consumer Code, you may use a consumer mediator free of charge. If a dispute arises, please contact us first at pelux.team@gmail.com so that we can look for an amicable solution.

These Terms are governed by French law. If no amicable solution is found, any dispute falls within the jurisdiction of the French courts.
