How it works

Every piece of kibble is earned

Nothing drops unless the object moves. Your cat has to push, search, try again — feeding becomes an activity instead of being wolfed down in thirty seconds.

The difference it makes day to day

They have to search to get it

Push, spin, try again. Mealtime becomes problem-solving instead of a reflex.

Slower eating

The kibble drops out one piece at a time, which limits eating too fast.

Adjustable difficulty

Small or large openings depending on the model: large to start with, small once they've got the idea.

Solid wood

An object that belongs in a living space, not a plastic accessory to hide away.

The moment

Mealtime that finally lasts longer

A cat that wolfs down their bowl in thirty seconds is bored for the twenty-three hours that follow. Spreading out eating means spreading out activity.

The setting

Easy at first, more demanding later

The openings adjust. You start wide so they understand the link between the action and the reward, then you narrow them as they progress.

The first few days

  1. Openings at their widest

At first, the reward should drop out almost on its own: they need to understand the link between the movement and the kibble.

  2. Show them once

Make a piece of kibble drop in front of them with your hand. Just once, then leave them to it.

  3. Narrow the openings gradually

Once they've got the idea, narrow the openings to make the game last longer.

  4. Deduct it from their ration

What comes out of the dispenser is part of the meal, not an extra.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask us about the dispenser

What size of kibble?

Standard dry kibble fits through. Very large treats may need the wide opening.

My cat gives up after two minutes.

That means the difficulty is too high. Open the holes back up fully and let them succeed several times before narrowing them again.

Is it washable?

The wood cleans with a damp cloth. Avoid soaking it or putting it in the dishwasher.

What's the difference between the base and the turntable?

The base is pushed, the turntable is spun. The turntable calls for a slightly more elaborate movement.
