The cover

Plush, rather than bare metal

On a bare radiator, they settle on a hard, narrow surface. In the hammock, they curl up in faux-fur plush, mounted on a 45 × 30 cm metal frame, up to 5 kg according to the supplier.

The cover comes off and goes in the washing machine at 40 °C.

The difference it makes in winter

Where they already go

In winter, a cat looks for the warmest corner of the flat and often ends up on the radiator. The hammock gives them a proper spot there, hooked right against it.

Soft plush

A faux-fur cover on a metal frame: they curl up in it instead of squeezing onto the top of the radiator.

Removable, washable cover

The cover comes off and goes in the machine at 40 °C. No bleach, no dry cleaning, no tumble dryer.

Folds away out of season

The frame folds for storage: in spring, it waits for the next winter at the back of a cupboard.

The moment

Their warm spot, all winter long

Outside, the sky is grey; they're asleep under the window, curled up in the plush, against the radiator. No more squeezing onto the sill: their spot is waiting for them.

The hooks

Measure your radiator before ordering

The hammock hangs from two hooks resting on the top of the radiator, at either end of a 45 cm frame. On the supplier's drawing, their opening is marked as 6 cm on one side and 8 cm on the other, without saying which applies: if in doubt, go by 6 cm.

A radiator thicker than the hook opening won't fit. That's often the case with the large cast-iron column radiators found in older buildings: they may well not be suitable. Measure the top of yours before ordering.

Measure the thickness of the top of your radiator: the hook opening is marked as 6 and 8 cm on the supplier's drawing, without saying which applies. The supplier specifies neither the temperature the cover can withstand, nor compatibility with electric or cast-iron radiators.

Setting it up

  1. Measure your radiator

The thickness of its top first: the hooks open 6 to 8 cm according to the supplier's drawing. Then its width: the hooks sit at either end of a 45 cm frame.

  2. Hook it on, then check

With the frame assembled and the cover on, rest both hooks on the top of the radiator. Check that the hammock sits straight before letting your cat climb in.

  3. Wash the cover, store the frame

The cover goes in the machine at 40 °C, no bleach or tumble dryer. Out of season, the frame folds away.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask us about the radiator bed

Will it fit my radiator?

Measure the thickness of the top of your radiator. On the supplier's drawing, the hook opening is marked as 6 cm on one side and 8 cm on the other, without saying which applies: if in doubt, go by 6 cm. The hooks sit at either end of a 45 cm frame: your radiator needs to be wide enough to take them both.

What about a cast-iron radiator?

Large cast-iron column radiators, common in older buildings, are often much thicker than the hook opening: they may well not be suitable. The supplier doesn't claim any compatibility; measure before ordering.

How much weight does it hold?

5 kg according to the supplier's text. One of their images states more; we go with the more cautious figure.

Can the cover take the heat?

The supplier doesn't give the temperature it can withstand, or any guidance for electric or oil-filled radiators. So we can't promise you anything on a very hot radiator.

Is it washable?

The cover comes off and goes in the machine at 40 °C. No bleach, no dry cleaning, no tumble dryer.

Can I hang it somewhere else?

Yes: the supplier also presents it as a bed that can hang somewhere other than a radiator, as long as the hooks find an edge that fits them.
